"WOMEN and WAR" gives voice to Women of Afghanistan thanks to UNFPA's support. The TV show produced by Dev.Tv will be broadcast by Euronews in eleven different languages, reaching almost 250 million household, starting from the 8th of April 2012.

 

WOMEN and WAR is a programme about the battles women are engaged in around the world. WOMEN and WAR Afghanistan gives voice to four women who risk their life for Afghan women's basic rights. In a country where less than 20% of women gets a primary education, where 92% of women have experienced at least one form of violence in lifetime and where the maternal mortality rate is one of the highest in the world, to be a woman is most of the time very dangerous.

Sima, Farzana, Nafiza and Frozan are some of the unsilenced voices of Afghanistan and their life gives hope to an entire nation.

The first episode of WOMEN and WAR in Afghanistan is dedicated to Sima Samar, Head of the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission, a woman who dedicates her entire life to empower women in Afghanistan.

Women and War Afghanistan - Farzana and Nafiza
Farzana and Nafiza are the protagonists of the WOMEN and WAR in Afghanistan second episode. Theirs daily work as head of the prosthetics department at the Committee of the Red Cross Hospital, and as midwife in the most remote provinces of Afghanistan, gives hope to the life of hundreds of people. Watch here
