The Central Statistics Organization (CSO) celebrates the publication of the Socio-Demographic and Economic Survey (SDES) for Daykundi. This important survey was first conducted in the Bamiyan Province in September 2011 and subsequently in Ghor and Daykundi Provinces during September 2012 with the financial assistance of the Government of Japan and the technical support from UNFPA. The SDES provides the first detailed analysis of the age and sex composition of the population of each province to the district level, as well as literacy levels; the highest educational class completed; employment; previous residence; deaths during the previous two years; estimated infant and under-five mortality, and housing and household characteristics.
