UNFPA Afghanistan has conducted a nation-wide comprehensive assessment of the mental health and psychosocial conditions and needs of the population in Afghanistan.
This baseline mental health assessment aimed to increase awareness and understanding of the mental health and psychosocial challenges in Afghanistan and enhance the integration of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) services into ongoing UNFPA’s health programmes throughout the country.
The overarching goal is to enhance the mental health and psychosocial well-being of the Afghan population and increase access to services, with a specific focus on vulnerable groups, including women, adolescent girls, persons with disabilities, returnees, and internally displaced persons.
