The 2024 UNFPA Afghanistan Annual Report highlights the Country Office's work, reaching 13.7 million Afghans (78% women and girls) with reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health services through 998 service points managed by 18 partners. This total reach represents a 48% increase in beneficiaries compared to 2023, resulting in improved lives through maternal healthcare, safe childbirth with qualified midwives, and psychosocial support from trained female counselors.

Programme reach expanded to all 34 provinces of Afghanistan; we've also established 89 new Family Health Houses and deployed 58 more Mobile Health Teams to remote and hard-to-reach areas. Despite challenges, vital services continued, responding to community needs. Our achievements in the last year reflect the dedication of the team, support of donors and partners, and the trust of program participants. UNFPA remains committed to providing on-the-ground support with partner backing, anticipating future challenges while maintaining meaningful impact.
