A world of 7 billion people poses many challenges - and offers countless opportunities to make a positive difference. 7 Billion Actions, established by the United Nations Population Fund, inspires change that will make a difference by highlighting positive action by individuals and organizations around the world. Everyone has an opportunity and a responsibility to make a world of 7 billion a better place for all. We are collecting stories of individuals making a difference in their communities and globally. Your story can inspire others to take action.

HASHMATULLAH STORY

I am Hashmatullah. I am a religious leader. As part of my responsibilities, I advocate for justice and equality, which is an important principal of Islam. I wish that one day all influential individuals of every society in the world, will work towards bringing justice to the lives of every human being.

 

AZIMA STORY

My name is Azima. I am 39 years old. I am a teacher in a primary school. I hope that one day my students will grow up to become agents of peace in Afghanistan and in the world.

 

 

SAMIULLAH STORY

My name is Samiullah. I am a baker.  I was not able to go to school because I couldn't afford it. Many young men and women of my age have had to stop their studies because they were responsible to work and earn money for their families. My dream is that a day will come when every young man and woman will have access to education.

 

NOSHIN STORY

My name is Noshin. I am 24 years old. I am the first female dentist running my own clinic in Badakhshan. When graduated from university, it was my dream to come back and start my own clinic. I want every woman in this world to be able to live her dreams like I do.

 

HASEEB STORY

I am Haseeb. I want to live in a world where there is justice. I want to be an active citizen of this world. I plan to join the police academy to become a policeman and to contribute to my community. Since we are living together in this world, we should contribute to making the lives of other humans better.

 

KHADIJA STORY

My name is Khadija. I am 46 years old. As a child I was not allowed to get an education. I started learning to read and write six years ago. I am grateful to have had a second chance. I hope that everyone else like me can get a second chance to get what they are looking for.

 

MUNIR STORY

My name is Munir. I am 22 years old. I am a shopkeeper. I want to be a successful business man one day and promote Afghan products in the international markets. I also want to work towards contributing to a stable economy in the world.

 

BARYALAI STORY

My name is Baryalai. I am a 39 years old father. When I was a child there was fighting in Afghanistan. The fighting continued until I became an adult and got married. Now when my child is born, we see relative peace in Afghanistan.  I hope that one day every child born in Afghanistan and around the world grows up in peace.

 

NASIR STORY

I am Nasir. I am 23 years old. I have lived most of my life in war. With my family I migrated to different places in search of peace. I hope that one day there will be no war anywhere in the world, and people will feel secure wherever they live.

 

NARGIS STORY

My name is Nargis. I work for youth development. I believe in the reforming power of youth and I hope that a day will come when all youth around the world unite to make it a better place to live in.

 

MIRZA STORY

My name is Mirza. I am a construction worker. Like many of my other country mates I suffer from poverty.  My income is barely enough to get my family through on a day to day basis. I hope that we will all be able to live in a world where no one dies of hunger.

 

AHMAD WALI  STORY

I am Ahmad Wali. I am 13 years old. Three months ago I lost my entire lower body in a fire. But because there were health facilities available I was able to get the benefit of plastic surgery, and recover. I want to live in a world where every human has equal access to health care.
